Approach

I am Dan Lane, a full time professional photographer, and I have been photographing weddings around Swindon since 2006. I work with Jan, so you get a male and female team on the day. That is not a gimmick. It means somebody is with the bride while somebody else is with the groom, and it means the small things that happen in two rooms at once do not have to be chosen between.

Photography is a genuine passion rather than a job I fell into, and the way we work is deliberately relaxed. Nobody enjoys being marched through two hours of posing, and it shows in the pictures when they have been. We stay out of the way, keep the formal groups quick and organised, and spend the rest of the day letting your wedding happen. Relaxed people photograph well, which is the whole trick.

We are qualified with the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers to LSWPP level and with the British Portrait Photographers Association to LBPPA level, and we were International Gold Award winners in both 2015 and 2016. We are fully insured for public liability and professional indemnity, and we carry backup bodies, lenses and lighting to every booking, because a wedding does not get a second attempt.

Over the years that has taken us to most of the venues in the area, from Swindon Register Office and Alexandra House to Lydiard House, Wellington Barn, Guyers House in Corsham and Egypt Mill over in Nailsworth. If you are marrying somewhere we have not worked before, we will visit it beforehand.
